About

The 12th IEEE Circuits and Systems Workshop will take place in Porto Alegre from November 3 to 4, 2022. While we encourage all attendees to participate in person, the main activities will also be presented virtually through the IEEE CASS Rio Grande do Sul Chapter YouTube channel. It is an event intended for academic and industrial exchange between local and foreign researchers. The speakers are renowned researchers from institutions with significant work in the field of circuits and systems. The event will last for two days, and the program consists of a series of invited talks and poster sessions. The event is co-located with the 4th IEEE CASS-RS Young Professionals Workshop.

Submission Format

Posters must be electronically submitted using an A4 portrait layout (WxH = 29.7 cm x 21 cm) in PDF format, along with a 500-word abstract. Abstract and Poster must be in English, while the presentation may be in Portuguese. The submission system is available on this page. After examination by experts of the community, the authors of selected works will present their poster in person during the event. There will be accommodation support (double and triple rooms in Coral Tower Trade Center) for the authors of approved posters who do not live in Porto Alegre, RS. We will provide a limited number of vouchers obeying the submission order, so hurry up.

There is not a mandatory template, but authors would preferably use the following poster template for their convenience.

BEST POSTER AWARD

Besides presenting in the poster session, the five best poster candidates of both undergraduate and graduate categories will be selected for a Special Session to have the opportunity to present their work ALSO in the format of a talk. We will also evaluate the presentation so that the three best posters in each category will win credits that can be spent in IEEE CASS events and journals in 2023, as follows:

Undergraduate Students:

  • Best Poster Award - USD 200,00
  • Honor Mention - USD 100,00
  • Honor Mention - USD 100,00

Graduate Students:

  • Best Poster Award - USD 200,00
  • Honor Mention - USD 100,00
  • Honor Mention - USD 100,00

IMPORTANT: To be eligible for prize recipients, the authors must be IEEE CASS members affiliated with the CASS-RS Chapter.

Young Professionals Workshop

The COVID-19 pandemic suddenly required adopting otherwise shy work models. In-person, full-remote, or hybrid: the different work modes call for new ways to establish and keep the social relations that hold the organizational and work universes. Culture, leadership, teamwork, engagement, job satisfaction, and the life quality of the employees are only a few aspects that demand actions toward ensuring not only the organizational results but - primarily - employees' health. In especial, mental health became more vulnerable during the pandemic, with a visible increase in depression and anxiety indices. In this sense, leaders and collaborators need to pay attention to workplace emotional and relational aspects, aiming to promote security and flexibility and exploring opportunities to enforce everybody's mental health, whichever the adopted work mode.

More than ready-made answers, Dr. Isabel Campos will bring questions to be considered by organizations and collaborators, aiming that each part may find its most adequate work mode. Also, from the perspective of R&D and digital design, Dr. Vanessa Testoni and Daniel Ferrão will share their experience and thoughts about the different work models.
